Plans to develop a leading-edge sports and health facility at the University of Strathclyde have been given the go-ahead by city planners.
The £33 million Sport, Health and Wellbeing facility will transform the University's facilities in a new, state-of-the-art building on Cathedral Street in the heart of Glasgow.
It will include a six-lane swimming pool, a large gym area and specialist academic space for teaching and research. Construction is scheduled to begin in November, and the building is expected to open in summer 2018.
StrathSports is glad to announce we will be hosting a 'Concussion in Sport' workshop during September, available to all Sports Union clubs.
Guest speaker Dr K. Duffy will deliver a bespoke student sport lecture on Monday 19th September from 19:30 in the Debates Chamber on level 6 of the Union building.
Strathclyde Sports Union will be hosting 2016 Sports Fair on Wednesday 14th September at the University Centre and Centre for Sport & Recreation.
New and returning students will have the opportunity to check out more than 50 student-led sports clubs the university has to offer from 10am-3pm during the busiest day on campus!
