Strathclyde University Boat Club was founded in the late sixties by four members of Clydesdale Amateur Rowing Club who realised they were all at the same university and could thus race at university events in a coxed four. With University funds they purchased the boat now known as the Lady Valerie and began competing.

We take on both experienced and beginner rowers at the start of the year to join our Novice and Senior squads who train regularly together, both in the gym and on the water. We accommodate those who want to row competitively and socially, as well as rowing we also hold a number of socials and events throughout the year, most notably Christmas Dinner and Barony Cup.
